The world champion, the Italian Pecco Bagnaia, on the official Ducati, was ninth, 0.693 seconds behind Márquez, only behind the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), winner in Portimão in 2022, and who went by another 0.499.
In a session that had a light rain in the first minutes, Miguel Oliveira, who was making his debut with the RNF, Aprilia’s satellite team, was 16th, 1,012 behind Márquez, one place ahead of his teammate, the Spanish Raúl Fernández, who overtook in 0.100 the Portuguese.
