The Portuguese pilot Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) was forced to retire from the MotoGP race of the Portuguese Grand Prix, after a fall after colliding with the Spanish Marc Márquez (Honda) in Portimão.
Marc Márquez was the first to start the 25 laps around the Algarve circuit while Miguel Oliveira started in fourth position. The Portuguese even led the race before being rammed by the Spaniard on lap three.

The fall forced the Portuguese driver to retire from the race and travel to the medical center of the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve.

Leaving the track, Marc Márquez, who also withdrew from the race after the crash, apologized to the Portuguese fans in the stands.
The accident occurred in the third of the 15 curves of the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve track and also hit the Spanish Jorge Martin (Ducati).
