The Brazilian international, Robinho, has already handed over his passport to the Brazilian authorities, following an order from the Superior Court of Justice (STJ).
The decision of the STJ took into account a request from the NGO Mulheres do Brasil, assisting in the action in which the Government of Italy asks the Justice to ratify the sentence that sentenced Robinho.
The Italian Prosecutor’s Office asks Robinho to serve a nine-year prison sentence in Brazil for the rape of a young Albanian woman in Milan in January 2013. At the time, Robinho was playing for Milan.
The case has already become final in Italy and Robinho’s defense can no longer file appeals.
