Benfica won the Women’s League Cup this Saturday by beating Sp. Braga in the final 3-1, after a comeback.
Caroline Kehrer opened the scoring for Sp. Braga, in the 33rd minute, a pass from Tânia Rodrigues. Closing the 1st half, in the 41st minute, Benfica drew with a penalty: on the first attempt, Carole Costa shot in defense of Patrícia Morais, but Braga’s goalkeeper was outside the goal line and the shot was repeated. There, Carole Costa failed no more and restored equality on the scoreboard before the break.
Benfica started the second half better, taking the lead in the 65th minute through Nycole, who hit the back of the net. The same Nycole scored twice on 81′, after a push.
With this victory, Benfica won the Women’s League Cup for the 3rd time.
