Ruben Amorim is on a shortlist of candidates to coach Chelsea, but he is not the main target for the London club, who are looking for a coach following the departure of Graham Potter. The news will be published this Tuesday by various websites and English newspapers.
According to The Guardian, Chelsea want to conduct a series of interviews to choose the new coach and Amorim is on that list. Julian Nagelsmann, who recently left Bayern Munich, is still the favourite, according to the English newspaper, but the Sporting coach is also well regarded, along with Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique and Oliver Glasner (Eintracht Frankfurt).
The Guardian calls Rúben Amorim “one of Europe’s brightest young coaches”.
According to the Football Insider website, Chelsea officials were very impressed with the Portuguese coach when they made some contacts in August, before Potter was chosen.
