However, the Portuguese pilot, who suffered an impact injury to several tendons in his right leg during the Portuguese GP, on March 26, after being hit by the Spanish Marc Márquez (Honda), will still have to pass the recognition doctor of the organization of the championship.
“Miguel Oliveira, who suffered an unfortunate injury in the home round less than three weeks ago, is set to return this week and travel to the United States. [Estados Unidos da América]. However, he must pass the medical examination on Thursday and be declared fit for the race,” the Portuguese team said in a statement.
Pending medical clearance, the driver marks the 200th Grand Prix of his career at the Circuit of the Americas.
RNF Aprilia also highlights that Oliveira “has good feelings about his recovery”.
The 28-year-old Portuguese pilot says he is “obviously excited” about the trip to the United States.
