The president of Inter Milan travels with the team this Monday to Lisbon. The director of the digital newspaper Europa Calcio describes in TSF an atmosphere of disappointment in the Nerazzurri team. Cristiano Abbruzzese remembers that the team has not done well in the championship -it is in 5th place-, and there are doubts about the ability of coach Simone Inzaghi to turn the situation around.
“I think the team is no longer with the coach, Simone Inzaghi. The Italian coach is not having a good time, and players like Lukaku, Brozovic or Skriniar are not in their best form on the team”, recalls the Italian journalist.
The Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper announced this weekend that Inter Milan is analyzing the profile of several coaches with a view to succeeding Simone Inzaghi. One of the names on the list – and the Italian newspaper assures that there have already been contacts between both parties – is Sérgio Conceição.
“Sérgio Conceição would be, in my opinion, the best option for Inter. He is a coach with the right attitude to create a group, to be able to convey the necessary message to the team so that they can score goals.” Sérgio could help dispel doubts about Inter Milan’s path to the future, because the sporting project takes time to convince the fans.
Lukaku on the bench. Skriniar, a problem for Inter
Lukaku is expected to start the game on the substitute bench – he cannot beat the competition from Dzeko or Lautaro Martínez – and Brozovic only has a place in the starting 11 because Calhanoglu is injured. In defense, Skriniar’s departure at the end of the season (at zero cost at the end of his contract) destabilized the sports project, clouded confidence in the future of the team. “I remember the case of Skriniar, who will play for Paris Saint Germain next season, and the impact of that choice was negative for the team.”
Inter president Zhang Kangyang (31 years old) will travel with the team to Lisbon. The coach’s position is at risk. “Inzaghi has to manage to change the way the team plays, Inter is in a bad moment and needs to write a different story in the Champions League. And there is great respect for Benfica, which is an excellent team”.
Still, Inter Milan has one of the best squads in Italian football. “Lautaro is currently the biggest danger for Benfica. Benfica has a strong team, with Gonçalo Ramos as the most dangerous player, a good striker”, highlights Cristiano Abbruzzese.
