Juventus assured today that the Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny “is fine” after being substituted against Sporting in the Europa League.
Near the end of the first half, the Polish international clutched his chest and called for a replacement, with the Italian press reporting that he had palpitations, tachycardia and shortness of breath.
“After some initial testing, Tek [Szczesny] ok”, read a message published by Juventus on the social network Twitter.
After the scare with Szczesny, Sporting also showed their support, with a message on social networks.
Juventus and Sporting meet today in Turin, in the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinals.
