PSG coach investigated over discrimination allegations

French justice has opened an investigation into Christophe Galtier, the current football coach of Paris Saint-Germain, on suspicion of “racial and religious discrimination” when he was in charge of Nice, the city’s public prosecutor (MP) said. ) known on Friday.

Police are investigating, according to Xavier Bonhomme, with searches of the facilities at Nice, a club Galtier led last season before moving to PSG, which has included Portugal’s Danilo, Nuno Mendes, Renato Sanches and Vitinha.

Former Nice manager Julien Fournier accused Galtier in a letter from various media outlets on Tuesday of having discriminated against Nice footballers during the period he led the club.

According to Fournier, the coach told him, among other things, that the Nice team “couldn’t have so many blacks and Muslims” and expressed a desire to “minimize the number of Muslim players”.

Meanwhile, current Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier rejected the allegations, revealing that he immediately resorted to his lawyer “to initiate without delay the necessary legal proceedings” to counter them.
