The Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) will miss the MotoGP French Grand Prix, the fifth race of the season, due to a left shoulder injury suffered in the Spanish GP last Sunday, as announced today by the RNF Aprilia team. .
“Unfortunately, Miguel Oliveira was forced to withdraw from the French GP due to the shoulder injury sustained at the Spanish GP. In the same document, the team where the Portuguese pilot plays also revealed that Miguel Oliveira and his medical team decided not to proceed with surgery, opting for a more conservative treatment.
The Almada rider will be replaced by the Italian Lorenzo Salvadori, Aprilia test rider.
This is the second race that Oliveira has been forced to miss due to injury, after already missing the Argentine GP, the second round of the season.
At the time, it was an injury to the tendons of the right thigh, caused by a blow from the Spanish Marc Márquez (Honda) during the Portuguese GP, on March 26, which forced his absence.
The Portuguese returned in the GP of the Americas, which finished in fifth position.
Miguel Oliveira would be hit again, this time by the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), in the Spanish GP this weekend.
In the fall, the Portuguese driver dislocated his left shoulder and suffered a small fracture in his humerus.
The MotoGP French GP is the fifth race of the World Speed Championship and will take place on May 14.
