Portrait signed by Maradona is auctioned to support the fight against cancer

Maradona was waiting, seated in one of the seats in the stadium, dressed in a bright red shirt, similar to the one he wore at the beginning of his soccer career. The portrait signed, that afternoon in 2019, by El Pibe de Ouro, will now be auctioned and part of the funds raised revert to the Marie Curie hospital, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The portrait was created in 2019 in front of Diego Armando Maradona by Cristian Landi. The Argentine star was, at that time, the coach of Argentinos Juniors, the first club he represented as a player. After completing the work, he signed it.

Now it has been bought by a communication agency, MP23, which will auction it in an initiative in collaboration with the Italian foundation Sportogether, through the NFT system, on OpenSea.

Part of the sale value of the painting will be donated by the non-profit organization to the Marie Curie Hospital, in Buenos Aires, for the purchase of equipment for cancer treatment.
