This Saturday, Real Madrid won the Spanish King’s Cup for the 20th time in its history after beating Osasuna 2-1 in a final in which the team from the capital was the strong favourite.
In Seville, at the Estadio de La Cartuja, the young Brazilian Rodrygo, 22 years old, signed his name in the history of Real and Spanish football by drawing a ‘double’ in the final, which turned out to be decisive in the club’s first King’s Cup since 2013/14, at a time when Cristiano Ronaldo was still playing for the ‘merengues’.
The international ‘canarinho’ scored on two and 70 minutes, with Torro on 58, still giving some hope to Osasuna, who only played their second final and were beaten again.
In Andalusia, Real Madrid reached its 20th Copa del Rey, but remains far from the record holders, FC Barcelona, with 31, and Athletic Bilbao, which has 23 in its museum.
