This Friday, canoeist Fernando Pimenta won the gold medal in the K1 500-meter event of the I Canoeing World Cup, while Hélder Silva won silver in the C1 200-meter event in Szeged, Hungary.
Pimenta, who won 15 medals at international events in 2022, secured his first gold of the season in 1.41.35 minutes, beating Australian Jean van der Westhuyzen by 45 hundredths of a second and German Anton Winkelman by 1.42 seconds.
Pimenta is also classified for the finals of K1 1,000 meters and K2 500 meters mixed, with Teresa Portela, in addition to the K1 5,000 which is a single test, without heats.
Hélder Silva shone again in C1 200 meters, being second in 41.56 seconds, 24 hundredths off the gold from Uzbek Artur Guliev: Italian Mattia Alfonsi completed the podium, with bronze exactly half a second behind Guliev.
