The already relegated Santa Clara beat the quiet Portimonense 1-0 this Saturday and gave Paços de Ferreira the last place in the Portuguese Football League, on matchday 33 and penultimate.
Andrezinho, with a goal in the 27th minute, sealed the fifth victory in the competition for the Azorean team and the nineteenth defeat for the Algarves, who remain in 13th place, with 34 points.
Santa Clara now has 22 points, against 20 for Paços de Ferreira – Rio Ave’s Sunday host -, both condemned to relegation since Friday, when Marítimo, 16th, with 26, beat Vizela 1-0 at home.
