Italian footballer Gabriele Gallani, 24, has died after falling into a canal in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The player, who is captain of the Traversetolo Team, a regional team in Italy, was on holiday with a group of friends and fell into a canal in an entertainment area in Amsterdam on Friday night.
Gallani was rescued alive and taken to a hospital, but died Saturday morning.
The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
