The Desportivo de Chaves coach said this Friday that he wants to beat Boavista, in the 34th and final round of the I Liga, with his sights set on seventh place and a record of 47 points.
“Our focus is on tomorrow [sábado] play a good game in front of our fans and give them a victory. I would very much like the stadium to be full or with enough fans supporting the team because I think that, for what they have done during the season, our players deserved that affection from the fans”, Vítor Campelos began by stressing, in the preview of the match.
After Arouca’s home defeat (1-0), Vítor Campelos now expects a difficult game with the Boavisteiros, for which he will not be able to count on the injured Euller, Jô Batista and Jonny Arriba, ensuring that the team is optimistic and confident.
“We know that we are going to face a team that is always aggressive, in a good way. It will take a Desportivo de Chaves at its best level to beat our rival, but we are optimistic and confident in what we can do”, he warned.
The victory will allow the Flavios to end the season in seventh place in the standings, as it could even be secured this Friday, if Famalicão, eighth, three points behind Trás-os-Montes, draws or loses in the clash with Rio Ave.
Even so, Vítor Campelos remains focused on Saturday’s game and the possibility of breaking the record of 47 points.
“We really want to finish in seventh place, which is the position we occupy now, since we can’t get any higher and, as I said, we really want to surpass the 47 points that is the record for points that Desportivo de Chaves. he has scored in the I Liga since victories are worth three points ”, he concluded, referring to the record achieved in 2017/18, under the command of Luís Castro.
Desportivo de Chaves, in seventh place, with 46 points, will host Boavista, in 10th, with 41, on Saturday, at 3:30 p.m., at the Estádio Municipal Engenheiro Manuel Branco Teixeira, in a match that will be refereed by Hélder Carvalho, of the Santarém Football Association.
