Fernando Pimenta wins silver in K1 1000 meters at the World Cup in Poznan

The Portuguese canoeist Fernando Pimenta won this Saturday the silver medal in the K1 1,000 meter test of the second stage of the Canoeing World Cup, which is held in Poznan, Poland.

As happened two weeks ago, in the first stage, in Hungary, the canoeist, bronze medalist in the distance at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, came in second position, completing the race in 03:44:56 minutes, 1.62 seconds behind winner, the hungarian. Adam Varga, while his teammate Magyar Balint Kopasz was third.

In addition, the podium of the 1,000 meters K1 in Poznan was exactly the same as the one registered in the opening round of the World Cup, in Szeged.

Even today, the canoeist from Ponte will contest the semifinals of the K1 500 meters, having already secured his presence in the mixed final of the K2 500 meters, together with Teresa Portela, on Sunday, the same day that he will contest the K1 5,000 meter race.
