Six people were arrested for trying to sell tickets for the Benfica-Santa Clara match, of the First Soccer League, at prices between 100 and 500 euros, the Economic and Food Security Authority (ASAE) announced this Saturday.
“During the course of the action, seven ticket titles (tickets) were seized with nominal values ranging between 25 and 40 euros, which would be being marketed at prices well above the value presented, with speculated values ranging between 100 and 500 euros per ticket, thus constituting undue advantages of high value”, the ASAE advanced in a statement.
According to that police force, the six people were thus detained for “the practice of the crime of speculation and ticket sales”, being constituted as defendants and subject to the Term of Identity and Residence (TIR), with the notification to appear before the judicial authority. .
“ASAE warns consumers that they should avoid purchasing tickets above their official value, since this sale constitutes a crime of speculation, punishable by imprisonment from six months to three years and a fine of not less than 100 days”, refers also ASAE.
Benfica was proclaimed champion of Portuguese football for the 38th time this Saturday, after beating the ‘red lighthouse’ Santa Clara at home, 3-0, in a match of the 34th and last day of the Portuguese First League.
Needing a victory to mathematically secure the title, Benfica scored through Gonçalo Ramos (07 minutes), Rafa (28) and Grimaldo (60), from the penalty spot.
After a ‘drought’ of three seasons, the ‘incarnated’ once again celebrated a national title, finishing the I Liga with 87 points, two more than FC Porto.
