UEFA opens Mourinho’s disciplinary file for “abusive language” against the referee in the Europa League final

UEFA announced this Friday that it had opened a disciplinary file against the Roma coach, the Portuguese José Mourinho, for a few words addressed to the English referee Anthony Taylor after the Europa League final, lost against Sevilla.

The opening of the process to the Portuguese coach is one more in a long list of cases related to the final this Wednesday, which the Spaniards won on penalties (4-1) after a 1-1 draw in regulation time and extra time.

On the Roman side, Mourinho will be investigated for insults and “abusive language against a referee”, after images of the coach rebelling against Anthony Taylor were released, later harassed by fans at the Budapest airport, still in the Puskas garage Sand.

Earlier, at a press conference, the Portuguese coach had already criticized the work of the English referee and questioned several plays of the match, in which 14 yellow cards were shown, eight of them for the Italian team.

Roma could also be penalized for “conduct unbecoming to the team,” public disturbances, property damage, throwing objects and the use of pyrotechnics.

As for the Spaniards, the throwing of objects, fireworks and improper behavior of the team added to the invasion of the playing area by the fans.
