FC Porto’s SAD manager Fernando Gomes defended this Monday the need for the club to sell “some of its key assets until the end of June” to balance the accounts.
“The big clubs that are competitive at the international level have no choice but capital gains, the sale of some of the most important assets. There is no other way to balance the accounts than through the sale of assets. It has always been that way at FC Porto this year will be no exception”he said when presenting the results of the bond issue.
Fernando Gomes gave no details on the value the dragons need to pass, but he reaffirmed that balance is essential.
“We are not yet in a position to close the accounts to say what amount will be needed, we are determining the amount we will have to realize in capital gains, but we will have to balance the accounts. With access to the Champions League and FC Porto’s interesting score, will allow UEFA to exceed 40 million euros in revenue”said the leader in response to questions to journalists.
The administrator also admitted that it is mandatory to sell before June 30.
“That’s right, it has to be done before June 30, only these results count towards the closing of the accounts this year. To balance the accounts, it has to be done before June 30”, rounded.
The SAD of FC Porto announced on Monday that it has obtained a total of 55 million euros from the bond loan during a ceremony on Euronext in the city of Porto.
