Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek, world number one and current champion, secured her qualification to the Roland Garros final for the third time in her career on Thursday by beating Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia in just two sets.
Swiatek, 22, toppled the world No. 14-ranked 6-2 7-6 (9-7) in two hours and nine minutes on clay in the second Grand Slam tournament of the year.
The Pole, who won at Roland Garros in 2020 and 2022, will seek her third win in the Parisian major, facing the Czech Karolina Muchova, world number 43, who defeated the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka in the decisive match and will play her first final of a Grand Slam tournament.
