Once again, Instagram is following in TikTok’s footsteps by launching a new feature inspired by its Chinese competitor. After launching the Reels, whose format is directly inspired by TikTok, the American social network now allows them to be downloaded as TikTok, which authorizes, under certain conditions, the download of the videos that are available there.
According to the Meta affiliate, this feature will allow you to share your Reels more easily outside of the app and promote cross-platform posts in case you want to post a downloaded Reel to your Twitter account or an additional social network.
- Go to the Real you want to download
- Tap the “Share” icon
- Select “Download”
Only public account reels can be downloaded and users can set their privacy. The video will be automatically saved in the gallery of your smartphone or tablet. At the moment, the functionality is only reserved for the American territory.
