After the government pointed out the role of social networks in the riots that affected France after the death of Nahel, Emmanuel Macron spoke on the subject in a meeting with the 220 mayors whose municipalities are affected. And the Head of State took the opportunity to communicate on the thorny issue of platform regulation.

For his part, the Minister of Justice, Éric Dupond-Moretti, recalled that Internet users can be identified by the police, even under a pseudonym. A theoretical possibility, but which, however, continues to depend on the good will of the platforms in question.
A fake press release from the Interior Ministry evoking internet blackouts in certain neighborhoods was broadcast on social media over the weekend, before being denied.
