To Subtly Flirt On Dating Apps, Don’t Use Artificial Intelligence

On the occasion of the AI night, the Tech&Co team was able to test different AI software in dating apps.

Out of inspiration on dating apps? Should we be inspired by artificial intelligence like ChatGPT to suggest more or less inspiring phrases? To find out, we tested a few tools as part of AI night.

The first step on a dating app is to complete your profile. And it takes a certain touch of originality to stand out. It’s not always easy, so Tech&Co turned to ChatGPT for help.

The software has outlined some clues that may inspire some. He first suggests a humorous description: “Foodie, foodie, and world explorer. If you’re looking for someone to share culinary adventures and laughs with, then we’re already on the same page.”

Another example, more common and already seen: “My passport is my best friend and adventures my drug.” Everyone will have their opinion on this type of Tinder biographies.

Second step, send a first message. And there, ChatGPT is not much help. The AI has given us ten examples of slogans and the suggestions are more or less helpful.

Among the few pearls:

  • “Was your father an artist? Because you are a true work of art on my match list!”
  • “I just realized we have a perfect match. You like to laugh, I like to make people laugh. That’s a promising start, isn’t it?”
  • “You must be tired because you’ve been on my mind all day”

AI matches for you

For those who are tired of spending hours swiping on dating apps, AI can take over. In any case, it is the attempt of CupidBot, an extension to install on Google Chrome, which claims to “select profiles for you” according to pre-selected parameters and your old matches. CupidBot also takes care of sending messages on your behalf until you get a number and a date. All for 14 euros per month, usable in particular in the Bumble application.

Once the extension is installed, you can enter parameters in CupidBot to select the profiles you are interested in. Hair color, height, gender preference… You can also choose the response time to a message, or choose to check a message before the AI sends it, and it’s highly recommended to do so.

During the test, CupidBot wanted to send the following message: “Hello, I’m looking to write a light story with you. Are you up to it?” Cupidbot was then inspired by the description of the profile in question.

CupiBot’s founders claim to be former Tinder employees, which the company formally denies. “We focus on the love lives of straight men because they are the ones who suffer the most from dating apps. It takes the ‘average’ man a long time to find a single date a month,” the founders clumsily defended. from CupidBot on Vice Last March.

Convinced or not by these proposals, it’s all about “showing your personality”, as ChatGPT suggests.
