A bad buzz and a recoil. Media group M6, which owns the YouTube channel Golden Mustache, a collective of platform videographers, had recently and soberly switched to “M6.”
A change in editorial line that did not escape many of the channel’s 3.5 million subscribers and Internet users, who immediately expressed their discontent:
Same anger for several former members of the collective, including Julien Josselin, who wants the Golden Mustache name reinstated:
“we hear you”
Faced with the controversy, the M6 group announced this Tuesday, July 18, that it will soon restore the name Golden Mustache to the YouTube channel.
“You have shown exceptional attachment to Golden Mustache, which the M6 Group has been proud to support since 2012,” the M6 Group tweeted, “we have listened and will be putting the Golden Mustache YouTube page back as it was.”
The group finally adds that this decision “is also an opportunity for us to reflect on the development of new projects in the brand’s DNA”.
