Dylan Thiry wants to improve his image a bit. With Tech & Co, the influencer returned at length to the accusations that target him: the humanitarian kittens but also the famous voice notes revealed by Booba.
The prize bags of his humanitarian trips
This is the story that currently earned him to be in the crosshairs of justice. After several controversial humanitarian trips to Senegal and then to Morocco, Dylan Thiry decides to launch his own association “For our children”, on November 21, 2021. “I opened an association, so that everything is in order”, he explains today.
Helped by three other people, including Sandra, whom he introduces as “his agent and his best friend”, he plans to go to Madagascar in early 2022 and intends to create online jackpots to raise funds.
Therefore, the first jackpot is created on January 21, 2022 on the Cotizup site. Dazzling success: at its closing, less than a month later, it will quote 158,177 euros. Dylan Thiry then leaves for Madagascar, multiplying the clichés on Instagram to document this first humanitarian trip. A second Cotizup kitty is open, just after the first. It will raise 95,620 euros when it closes in October of the same year. Finally, a third boat opens after the second to close at 7,760 euros.
Thus, in one year, the influencer has raised 261,197 euros for Madagascar. He therefore leaves the country for the second time, but for three months, in the summer of 2022.
But for his detractors it is difficult to know if the money has been used entirely for humanitarian aid. Asked about the matter, Dylan Thiry assures: everything was well spent on his trip.
Within the AVI collective, which fights against the excesses of influencers, the calculations are very different. “If we are very broad, we estimate that she spent between 40,000 and 50,000 euros on her second trip,” explains Blatologue, a pseudonym of a very active member of the collective who calculated the influencer’s expenses specifically based on everything Dylan Thiry published on social networks.
The problem is that it is very difficult to know the amount spent by the association, due to the lack of an annual balance sheet. Indeed, the latter was finally dissolved by Vice President Sandra, at the beginning of November, that is to say a little less than a year after its creation. However, the first anniversary forced to publish a balance that could have clarified the situation.
For Dylan Thiry, the responsibility therefore falls on Sandra and the treasurer (both friends) who would have closed the association due to the obligation to take stock. For their part, they claim to have asked Dylan Thiry to pay an accountant to make this assessment. Having refused the latter, they would have taken the opportunity to flee from this association (and therefore dissolve it) that crystallized all the controversies.
So why not take stock once and for all? “How would we do it? With false invoices? It’s illegal,” says Dylan Thiry. Because if the balance does not exist it is also because the invoices are missing.
The first few days, however, he sent Sandra bills, for small amounts. But it didn’t last. “I tried but the truth filled me. I don’t buy anything a day, I buy 20 bananas there, 300 bananas there, 12 cookies there, 90 cookies there, six bags of rice there… And the invoices wouldn’t even be official (…) tomorrow, I can do the invoices myself but I’m not going to have fun making false invoices”, he explains again.
The problem becomes even more intractable when we learn that the kittens’ money was transferred, through an account in Sandra’s name, to Dylan Thiry’s personal bank account. Not being French (he is Luxembourgish) and residing in France, the latter was unable to open an account in France in his name.
In the end, justice will decide. In January, five complaints for breach of trust were presented to him, in particular by Sandra and the treasurer of the association. They denounce the lack of transparency about Dylan Thiry’s expenses and his “totalitarian, irresponsible and abject behavior towards us.” Good-natured and smiling, the man can also be tough, he admits it himself.
Phone in hand, he also denounces “false complaints”, in particular the one presented by Helena, a member of the AVI collective. In a voice note, she thus claims to have voluntarily given 5 euros for the third kitten “so that she can later ask him to account.”
Contacted by Tech&Co, Helena claims to have “thrown in money to find out where it was going” but without premeditating the complaint. “It was only when Sandra and the treasurer filed a complaint that I decided to join.”
According to our information, the investigation prior to the complaints is ending and will give way to the opening of an investigation. Dylan Thiry will then be summoned by the investigators.
The pimping accusations
At the end of April, the rapper Booba presents several compromising recordings about Dylan Thiry. In the first, the influencer talks to Sandra to discuss a strange montage. She envisions creating MYM accounts, a paid platform known for its erotic and pornographic content, for call girls in Dubai. “We make him do a MYM (…) we give him 20% and I have a team behind him that raises his MYM to 500,000, 600,000, 700,000 subscribers.” And she assures: “in two days, for example, we set up a MYM, the girl who made 700,000 subscribers.”
So what about this famous account with 700,000 subscribers? The influencer alleges stupidity.
“You’ll see how stupid I am,” he begins. “MYM’s number 1 in France, how many subscribers do you have? 20,000 subscribers.” And enter the calculator of her smartphone to imagine a subscription to 20 euros a month: “I, to show you how stupid I am and said nonsense, make a girl earn 14 million euros a month?”.
Child trafficking charges
In two other voice notes published by Booba, Dylan Thiry evokes illegal adoptions in Madagascar, which could be compared to child trafficking. In the first message, he hears “save a child” with no family. “I have to bring her to Europe so that she becomes my daughter.” The idea would be to take a friend’s granddaughter’s passport and then bring the girl back to Europe by posing as the girl in the passport.
“When you’re in Madagascar and you see children die, believe me, you want to put them all on the plane and you want to put them all in the pool in Dubai,” he explains. “I didn’t do it, because it’s illegal, but I really want to do it.”
The other vowel, made several months later, evokes the adoption (legally, this time) of a Malagasy child by a famous couple of influencers -Jazz and Laurent Correia- that Dylan Thiry could charge 100,000 euros.
“I’m going to spend a month of my life with a woman who is a billionaire (…) They do this for free, me? No, I’m going to get 100,000 euros from Jazz”, he cuts. “That’s what I wanted to do. Did I do it? No. But that’s what I wanted to do: get 100,000 euros out of billionaires.”
