A novelty that will save you from juggling between two phones. Both business and personal notifications will now be available in a single application: WhatsApp. The new feature called “multiple accounts”, allows you to add multiple phone numbers under one account, according to information from the specialized medium WABetainfo.
However, please note that this functionality is currently available in beta for users whose device runs on Android.
To add a new account to WhatsApp, just go to settings, tap on the arrow icon next to the QR code button. From this same page, it is possible to switch from one account to another.
A screen is then displayed to scan the QR code of the new account or to enter the associated phone number. Once the account is added, it remains active on the device until the user signs out. To switch from one account to another, simply go back to settings and select the desired account.
For an increasingly professional use
In the conversations menu, WhatsApp keeps conversations separate between accounts. They are not all mixed up on one page. Notifications are also different and specify which account the message is received from.
WhatsApp did not give details about the deployment of this new function, but it should be available to everyone “during the next few weeks”, specifies the specialized medium.
The messaging app also installed a new option on August 8 that allows you to share your screen during a call. A strategy that allows WhatsApp to position itself a little more in the market of professional exchanges such as Slack, Zoom or Teams.
