A feature that “doesn’t make sense,” says Elon Musk. After changing the name of his new social network to “X”, the billionaire continues to attack the remains of the blue bird. In a series of messages, Elon Musk announces that soon it will no longer be possible to “block” accounts in the app, except for private messages.
“Hide” instead of “Lock”
In the X Support Centerit is stated that “the ‘Block’ feature helps you control how you interact with other accounts on Twitter. It allows people to prevent certain accounts from communicating with them, seeing their Tweets, and following them.”
This feature allows victims of cyberbullying to avoid receiving responses from their bullies under their posts.
Questioned on the subject, Elon Musk recalls that it is possible to “hide” an account and thus no longer see the responses or published posts.
But the owner of X does not specify that “hiding an account does not affect its ability to send you private messages,” according to the platform’s support center.
Also, hidden accounts can still follow you and reply under your posts. Elon Musk did not specify when the “Block” feature would no longer be available.
This is not the first time that the billionaire attacks the operation of the social network. For the past few days, the Tweetdeck app has been limited to X Premium accounts.
These paid accounts are also highlighted by the algorithm of the platform. Twitter Blue subscribers, by monetizing the necessary 10 euros each month, have thus seen that their tweets have become “priority”.
