Emmanuel Macron’s interactive AI has been banned from the Twitch platform

For several days, a version of Emmanuel Macron produced by artificial intelligence answered questions from viewers of a channel on the live streaming platform.

Twitch has put an end to the AI experience that has been entertaining Internet users for several days. On the DefendIntelligence channel of the live streaming platform it was possible to interact with Emmanuel Macron. At least one avatar animated by artificial intelligence of the President of the Republic. The software responded to questions and comments posted by viewers.

But it all came to a halt on Tuesday, August 29, late in the afternoon, when a surfer asked the president’s avatar to give him his “top 3 worst French town names.” Emmanuel Macron’s AI version then cited Bitche (Moselle), La-Mort-aux-Juifs (Loiret) and Montcuq (Lot).

The second proposal resulted in the removal of the chain. Although it is the old name of a village renamed in 2015, the phrase was immediately identified as a discriminatory slur.

“A History and Geography Lesson”

But the French engineer Anis Ayari, at the initiative of the experiment, immediately reappeared on Kick, the rival and controversial platform of Twitch. When he had just launched his broadcast, the artificial intelligence expert could not help but regret the sanction.

On Twitter (renamed X), the French engineer Anis Ayari, behind the experiment, clarified that he had received a permanent ban from Twitch. Although he appealed the decision, Tech & Co was able to verify this Wednesday, August 30, that the channel was not yet available.

After Emmanuel Macron, the DefendIntelligence channel offered its viewers the opportunity to interact with two other Presidents of the Republic: first General De Gaulle and then Jacques Chirac. The engineer had plans to develop an AI version of Coluche or even Elon Musk with the ultimate goal of having avatars discuss them.
