Yet another new feature for WhatsApp. Following the same principle as voice notes, the messaging platform, owned by Meta, allows, since the end of last July, to record and integrate short video sequences of up to one minute in a conversation.
Laid out in a circle, videos start automatically when opened. By default the sound is not activated and you must click on the image again to activate the audio.
How to send video messages
- In a chat, click the microphone icon, located at the bottom right of the text input bar, to activate the camera icon that allows you to send a video message.
- Long press the camera icon to record your video. It is also possible to record a video by swiping your thumb up, without having to hold the icon afterwards.
WhatsApp points out that, like all discussions accessible from the application, the end-to-end encryption is effective in these new video formats.
