The online bank Boursorama has been reprimanded by the Cnil for having asked certain clients for their username and password on the tax site, AFP learned on Thursday from concordant sources, confirming information from the specialized media Next INpact.
The French privacy police, for its part, confirmed the procedure but without providing further details, since the notification was not public.
To gain time
In order to obtain a consumer loan more quickly, Boursorama offers since June 2022 to its clients who have not domiciled their income in it to provide them directly with the identifier and password of the tax site.
By getting the information it needs at the source, the bank saves time, especially in verification because it does not have to guarantee the authenticity of the document. But this possibility remains optional and is done in the secure environment of the website, defended Xavier Prin.
This formal notice occurs in a context in which each Internet user is constantly reminded that they should never reveal their passwords to anyone, recalls the Next INpact site.
