Many smartphone manufacturers are investing in the foldable smartphone segment. After the Motorola Razr 40 or the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, it’s up to Honor, precisely, to comply with the exercise.
On the occasion of IFA 2023, the essential high-tech fair that is held in Berlin (Germany) until September 5, the Chinese brand presented the Magic V2, its latest smartphone that adopts this trend.
“It is the thinnest foldable smartphone in the world”, greets Frédéric Gulesserian, commercial director of Honor France, a guest of Tech&Co at the IFA fair, on Monday, September 4. “It measures 9.9mm when closed. When the smartphone is open, it’s 4.7mm. It’s an ultra-thin and accomplished product.”
The release date is still uncertain
With this terminal, Honor intends to offer a foldable smartphone capable of overcoming consumer prejudices about this type of device. In particular, Frédéric Gulesserian highlights his reluctance regarding the “format, weight, thickness and characteristics” of smartphones of this type.
In terms of foldable smartphones, delicacy often rhymes with limited autonomy. Honor claims to have avoided this problem by integrating new technology into its latest device. “It’s a 5,000 mAh carbon battery. It’s the same amount of mAh as a premium smartphone. It’s more than a day of battery life. It’s better than an iPhone 14 Pro,” explains Frédéric Gulesserian.
At the moment Honor has not given details about the commercialization of Magic V2 in Europe. However, the device should arrive soon. Likewise, its price remains unknown for the moment.
