“Get off Twitch!” In his first live stream on Twitch after his GP Explorer 2 event, after breaking the platform’s viewership record on Saturday, videographer Squeezie spoke about a controversy that ruined the party a little. One of the participants in the F4 race, Manon Lanza, has suffered a wave of cyberbullying since the collision that occurred between her car and that of influencer Maxime Biaggi, which forced both competitors to abandon.
Considering her responsible for the accident, many Internet users flooded social networks with hate messages that “shocked” the young woman.
“There is a part of the world that is not going well. That we use the slightest mistake to publicize sexism is unacceptable. Through me we are affecting all women. Being able to still read ‘Woman at the wheel, dead at the wheel’ turn, It is horrible in 2023,” he lamented.
A treatment “gap”
Supported by the majority of the participants in the event, Manon Lanza received this Tuesday afternoon the support of the organizer and number one YouTuber in France.
To support his point, Lucas Hauchard took the example of the last two controversies he was involved in: a column about the regulation of the influencer world and the end of his relationship with former YouTube boss Cyprien. According to him, in these two cases, her name was mentioned in 40,000 tweets, while Manon Lanza “had more than 65,000 tweets” with less notoriety.
Beyond the number of messages, Squeezie insisted on his “violence.” “There is also a huge gap in the form of messages, which are much more violent when it comes to a woman,” she lamented.
The man with 18 million subscribers on YouTube then got angry at the incomprehension of some viewers of his live: “All you closed-minded little dogs, go to hell! Let’s get rid of this live! Get off Twitch! We all hate you “. You’re embarrassing us! You’re putting us in trouble! Please get out of there!”
“Disagreeing with his behavior does not make you a misogynist, but launching Twitter (now X, editor’s note) to insult him makes you a cyberstalker,” he concluded.
