Smartphone: the Xiaomi 12T want to be the kings of high-end photography

Xiaomi presented its new high-end smartphones this week. The 12T range builds on professional-quality photography to earn a place of choice alongside Apple, Samsung and Google.

It’s news week. After Google presented its Pixel 7 and 7 ProApple that has put up for sale its iPhone 14 plus To complete its range, Xiaomi has also launched its premium smartphones.

The Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro rely on a very high-end photography experience to stand out.

One smartphone, two photographic visions

The Xiaomi 12T Pro sports a 200-megapixel main camera, the highest resolution to date also found on the Motorola Edge Ultra, which promises to capture maximum light for vibrant photos in low light or at night. Thanks to its algorithms, it also combines this with rapid development and various optimizations for very sharp rendering, the Chinese manufacturer promises.

Added to this is a 2x optical zoom to refine portrait mode photos and several features (Xiaomi ProCut and Ultra Burst) that make it easy to crop or create content. There is also an ultra wide angle (8 Mpx) with a field of view of 120 ° and a macro lens (2 Mpx). At the front, Xiaomi has opted for a 20 mpx camera. On the video side, it is capable of shooting in 8K.

Its companion, the Xiaomi 12T, shows off the same triple photo module on the back, but has to make do with a 108-megapixel main sensor anyway, far more than most smartphones. It still promises professional quality even in low light.

In terms of design and screen, the Xiaomi 12T Pro and 12T are absolutely similar. Both have a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, compatible with Dolby Vision and HDR10 +. The fingerprint reader has been placed under the screen. The back is colorful and elegantly curved, with a coating to prevent fingerprints. As for audio, it is once again the Harman Kardon specialist who sticks to it to offer high-quality sound with its two Dolby Atmos speakers.

A smartphone recharged in 19 minutes

Under the chassis, Xiaomi powers the engine with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, the most powerful in an Android device that equips its flagship. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12T has to make do with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Ultra processor. Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro run on MIUI 13 (based on Android 12).

It is at the battery level that the Chinese also intend to make the dust talk. Once again, your devices take advantage of ultra-fast 120W charging (charger included). Between the processor that consumes less energy and the improved cooling system to avoid burning your hands, especially in the game, the 12T Pro promises the best autonomy ever used by the brand, accompanied by a 100% recharge in 19 minutes.

Prices and availability of the Xiaomi 12T range

Both devices will be offered in Cosmic Black, Lunar Silver, and Sky Blue starting October 13. Pre-orders are now open.

The Xiaomi 12T will be available at 649 euros with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.

The Xiaomi 12T Pro is announced at 799 euros in the same configuration.
