WhatsApp has long allowed you to send voice messages. In a conversation, simply press and hold the microphone-shaped button while recording and then release to transmit the voice memo. But this unergonomic handling prevents hands from being free and does not allow you to listen to the audio message beforehand. A simpler, more practical and little-known option allows you to get rid of it.
It is possible to block the recording of a hands-free voice message. Result: It is no longer necessary to hold your finger on the microphone icon to record. This useful feature allows you to regain freedom of movement as well as being able to preview your message before sending it. Ideal to avoid errors.
Send a voice message without using the microphone button
- Tap and hold the microphone icon and drag it up toward the lock icon to lock recording.
- Choose the green arrow on the right to send the voice note. You can also pause the recording by clicking the red “Pause” button. Content can be deleted by selecting the trash icon on the left.
Meta continues to enrich its messaging service with new options. After the deployment of “Channels”, a function that allows you to follow news from personalities or media outlets, the platform is currently testing, in its beta version, a new option: ephemeral audio messages.
