The first European Center of Excellence in Cloud Security will open its doors next Tuesday, October 31, in the city of Matosinhos, in the district of Porto.
Focusing “on the development and delivery of a broad range of cloud cybersecurity solutions,” the inaugural event for Accenture’s new center brings together several “industry, security and technology experts in the same space, in collaboration with knowledgeable ecosystem partners in various areas.
“This new investment by Accenture will allow it to export information security solutions to clients on the five continents, from Portugal,” explains the company, in a statement sent to the editors.
The information technology company also notes that a recent study reveals that “74% of CEOs show concern about the ability” of their companies to combat or minimize the damage caused “by a possible cyber attack, raising the question need to strengthen these services”.
In addition to several professionals from the sector, the event will also be attended by the president of the Matosinhos City Council, Luísa Salgueiro, as well as the president of Accenture Portugal, Manuela Vaz.
Last year, at least four municipalities (Gondomar, Lagoa, Oliveira do Hospital and Odemira) were subject to computer attacks.
