During the Meta Connect conference, Facebook’s parent company gave some hints about the future of its metaverse, Horizon Worlds. Currently, the Facebook metaverse can only be accessed through a virtual reality headset. This was also the whole theme of this Tuesday’s conference: the presentation of the Meta Quest Pro.
But soon we could access Horizon Worlds without going through this helmet. Meta has announced that it will be accessible via the Web from a computer or smartphone. Without giving details or a specific date on this subject.
The other ad is for Instagram. Soon, the content of the metaverse will be able to be shared in the form of Reels (short videos). Meta account on Instagram to push users to Horizon Worlds. Being Instagram one of the most popular applications of the group, it is used to carry out a project that does not even convince the engineers in charge of developing it.
A potential arrival of Horizon Worlds on the Web had already made noise last April, as pointed out the edge. In a now-deleted tweet on April 14, Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, CTO of Horizon Worlds, already announced a metaverse version of Meta on the Web. Vivek Sherma, vice president of Horizon World, even revealed that he was working on bringing the platform to phones and game consoles.
