It is a tradition. Like every year, Google has revealed its ranking of search trends for 2023 in France. And if last year the word “Ukraine” topped the list, it is “ChatGPT” that occupies the first place.
News
A first place that is not surprising, since artificial intelligence has been at the center of all debates since its creation, on November 30, 2022. The recent news that Sam Altman, creator of ChatGPT, has faced in the last weeks – he was fired from Open IA before returning five days later – worked in the keyword’s favor. The revolutionary chatbot is ahead, in particular, of searches on the “Israel and Hamas war”; “The Disappearance of Emilio”; “Ciarán Storm” and “Lina Disappearance” in the top five places in the ranking. The search “Motion of censure” – which was discussed during the pension reform – also appears in the top 10.

The “whys”
Often linked to current French political and geopolitical events, the “why” questions refer to the earthquake that occurred in Morocco and to the – potential – aid from France, rejected by the affected country. The history of the war between Israel and Palestine is also questioned. Other questions, related to daily life, have their place in this ranking: “Why does electricity increase?” While the fourth question in this ranking once again refers to football: “Why does Griezmann have pink hair?”
