Gabriel Attal announced, on December 5, the upcoming arrival of an artificial intelligence module intended for high school students, and more precisely high school students. MIA Second, its full name, is an artificial intelligence that aims to support students and limit school dropouts.
It is the French start-up EvidenceB, in collaboration with Docaposte, that developed this artificial intelligence tool, whose acronym means “adaptive interactive modules”.
“Armed Bandit”
The co-founder explains that the researchers and teachers who developed MIA were based on the “one-armed bandit” model: exercise after exercise, the system will look for the most relevant and coherent exercise for the student based on their path. “The principle is to adjust the best exercise for each student, the one that gives them the most hope of winning, the one that is most appropriate,” explains the co-founder.
MIA also offers a “duo” modality to work in pairs, to avoid the feeling of “loneliness” that work can bring, says the co-founder.
Starting in February 2024, more than 200,000 students will be able to take the MIA test. And at the beginning of the school year, in September, 800,000 high school students, or all second-year students, will be able to use it, and always for free. The tool can be used, at the choice of teachers and students, either in class or at home.
