“Is it possible to ask Google to remove this preview?” The advance that this user of the social network
At the origin of the petition, an 11-year-old girl from the United Kingdom, for whom the dream of one day meeting Santa Claus has disappeared forever. Since in the first search result she gives the blog “chocolate hotel” as an example, with her article “the true story of Santa Claus”.
An article that dismantles the theory according to which Santa Claus delivers gifts on December 25 aboard a sleigh pulled by eight reindeer, the extract of which is selected by Google in a box that appears at the top of its results.
Versions that differ
When mentioning the keywords “does Santa Claus exist?”, in French, the first Google result is a box taken from the Sud-Ouest media website. The newspaper article bluntly announces that Santa Claus does not exist and adds that he could be attributed a residence in Lapland, a transnational region in northern Europe.
A joking response that Google Bard does not hesitate to rework in his own way. When Google’s artificial intelligence is asked if the character exists, it responds: “If you mean that there is a man who lives in the North, who has a white beard, wears a red suit and distributes gifts to children on Christmas Eve.” . , Then the answer is no. “Google Bard appears, however, less fatalistic and emphasizes that “each person must decide what he believes in.”
Its competitor, ChatGPT, offers a completely rational answer: “Santa Claus is widely perceived as a symbolic and festive figure, but he is not considered a real person in a concrete context.” The Open AI Chatbot, on the other hand, refers to the magical vocation of a “cheerful character, dressed in red and white, handing out gifts to children during Christmas night.”
ChatGPT is the polar opposite of Apple’s Siri, which, probably better formatted by Apple, offers a response full of ambiguity. “This is information that I am not authorized to communicate. He has prohibited me from doing so,” explains the iPhone’s artificial intelligence. Which at least has the merit of not exceeding the dreams of the youngest.
