Apple Watch: the White House did not save the last Apple Watch, the sale of which is prohibited

Apple, which was waiting for Joe Biden’s decision, will finally no longer be able to sell, at least as it is, its last two Apple Watch models in the United States.

The latest Apple Watch models will ultimately not be saved by the White House. Joe Biden had until December 25 to veto the ban on the marketing of the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the United States.

This decision was issued last October by the ITC (International Trade Center), within the framework of a dispute between Apple and Masimo, an American company specialized in medical technology. In fact, Masimo accuses Apple of having plagiarized its patented technology to place an oximeter capable of measuring the level of oxygen in the blood in its connected watch models.

Is an update coming?

The ITC, which ruled in favor of Masimo, forced Apple to stop importing and, therefore, selling its two watches on the other side of the Atlantic. The closure has been in effect since December 21 in the online store, and since December 24 in physical stores. Resellers can still sell the watches they have in stock, but Apple can no longer supply them. Some Apple Watch models will also not be able to be repaired.

This decision only concerns the United States: the French can still get the Apple Watch Series 9 or the Apple Watch Ultra 2. In view of this decision, there is talk of a possible update that will allow Apple to continue selling its watches in the United States . State. But at the moment the Californian company has not made any official announcement in this regard.
