Revolut wants to simplify traveling abroad for the French. The online bank announced on Monday, March 25, the launch of an eSIM service in France. This dematerialized SIM card “provides seamless access to mobile data, eliminating the inconvenience of high prices or the need to organize the purchase of a physical SIM card abroad,” said Elyas Sadou, product manager at Revolut, in a Press release.
Compatible with “most 4G/5G Android and Apple smartphones”, this eSIM can be used simultaneously with a physical SIM card. The French will thus be able to obtain mobile data and stay connected without interruptions and without additional costs charged by their operator when traveling abroad, says Revolut.
Enjoy the journey from start to finish.
With this eSIM, customers will also be able to use the Revolut app without using up their mobile data allowance. The online bank will also offer 100 MB of free data that can be used abroad to French people who install this dematerialized SIM card before May 1. Ultra customers – monthly subscription of 45 euros – will benefit from 3 GB of mobile data to use abroad each month.
With this new service, Revolut aims to complete its range of “Lifestyle” products so that its customers benefit “from the beginning to the end of their journey.” It allows them to book accommodation from the application, access airport lounges or even exchange their currencies in more than 30 currencies.
