Since the Pixel 5, launched in 2020, Google no longer offers an XL version of its smartphones. That could change with the Pixel 9, which is expected to launch next October. According to the specialized site 91Mobiles, the company could offer its future smartphone in three different versions: the classic Pixel 9, the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel Pro 9 XL.
If in January the famous “leaker” OnLeaks planned to reveal the first renders of the Pixel 9, published by the specialized site, it now claims that they show the Pro and Pro XL versions of the future Google smartphone. According to these renders, the classic model would have a 6.03-inch screen, which would increase to 6.1 inches in the Pro and 6.5 inches in the Pro XL.
Two options for fans of large smartphones
With such a size, the Pixel 9 Pro XL would be smaller than the Pixel 8 Pro, which has a 6.7-inch screen. By offering two different sizes for its Pro models, Google would follow in Apple’s footsteps with its iPhone Pro.
Google’s two Pro models would also be equipped with three photo sensors, compared to the two of the classic Pixel 9. We will have to wait until next October to officially see what they will be like. Before that, the company should present its Pixel 8a, as well as its new foldable smartphone, the Google Pixel Fold 2.
