WhileSupervision is going through an area of serious turbulence, Netease has just announced its “6v6 PvP shooter”, that is, a shooting game in which twelve players participate (six on each team) in arenas inspired by the Marvel universe.
In development for several months at the Chinese video game giant and in collaboration with Marvel, the title is called Marvel Rivals, and is advertised as free-to-play, free, but with microtransactions. The title promises several innovations, but above all it will take advantage of its cast of characters who are already particularly well supplied at the beginning.
Marvel Characters Rivals:
- Black Panther
- doctor strange
- Groot
- Iron Man
- Helmet
- Loki
- snow moon
- Magic
- magnet
- Mantis
- namor
- Peni Parker
- Scarlet Witch
- Spider-Man, Rocket Raccoon
- Lord of the stars
- The Punisher
- Storm
A release in 2024 on PC
One of the novelties compared to its main competitors, including Supervision, although it is a first-person shooter, turns out to be the evolution of its battlefields. In fact, the title will allow players to destroy everything to recreate scenarios, which will then be able to significantly modify the tactics necessary to defeat opponents.
In addition, each hero will be able to help each other and thus create a synergy that will sometimes offer important advantages in the arena. In the video released by Marvel, we can see Hulk giving Iron Man the benefit of his Gamma energy, thus multiplying the force of an explosion by ten.
Several seasons are expected, with new characters, but above all new stories. If Blizzard has definitively left the Overwatch scene aside, Netease is quick to do so with Marvel Rivalsthat will reveal its secrets throughout the weeks and months of operation.
It will begin in 2099, as Doctor Doom once again seeks to destroy the multiverse. By fighting in arenas, players will have to avoid the collision of universes and, therefore, save the world by extension.
Marvel Rivals It is expected this year on PC, with a closed alpha phase scheduled for May.
