Never three without four. Twitch changes its adult content moderation policy again. From now on, all content that shows “intimate parts”, including dresses, will be prohibited.
The video streaming platform announced this change on March 27. “Twitch content is constantly evolving and we want to make sure our rules work as intended and stay up to date with new trends,” Twitch emphasizes in a publication informerly Twitter.
Therefore, “content that highlights intimate parts of the body, such as the buttocks, groin or breasts, for prolonged periods” will be prohibited starting March 29, the platform specifies in its community guidelines.
Increase in the number of views
A change in policy, as a new trend takes off on Twitch. In recent weeks, some streamers have been posting videos about their breasts or buttocks. The result is a significant increase in the number of visits.
This is the case of Morgpie, a streamer used to playing with the limits of Twitch’s usage policy. The Onlyfans star, 22, played Fortnite by streaming the game in his shorts, turned into a green screen. Other streamers, like Nyx Nekota, quickly followed his lead.
With this new policy, Twitch hopes to secure the platform as much as possible for all minors over the age of 13. In fact, there is no way to limit the content offered based on the age of the users.
Multiple flashbacks
Last December, the platform authorized artistic representations of nudity, as long as the content was correctly labeled as such.
A few days later, Twitch preferred to back down and cancel everything. “As of now, depictions of nudity, whether real or fictional, are prohibited on Twitch,” the platform concluded in a blog post.
In January, after abuses regarding its conditions of use, the platform tightened the screws on suggestive content. Content creators have been banned from making pretending to be naked.
