Bar, restaurant… Google Maps will now recommend good exits

Google announced a number of new features for its navigation app, including integrating Gemini to suggest output ideas to users.

Transform Google Maps with artificial intelligence. This Thursday, October 31, Google announced several updates to its navigation application. Goal: Help users find inspiration with their Gemini AI.

Specifically, they will soon be able to ask the chatbot for help to plan an activity. If a user tells you, for example, that they are looking for something to do at night with their friends, Gemini can suggest that they go to a bar. It will also be possible to learn more about a particular location by reading an AI-generated review summary.

These features are rolling out for the first time in the United States, starting this week on iOS and Android. Google also plans to offer similar experiences on its search engine in the coming months.

“Plan the perfect trip”

While waiting for the arrival of these functions in France, another one will arrive next week on Google Maps and around the world. Its goal is to take the stress out of driving by making the trip easier from start to finish.

Specifically, once a user has obtained their itinerary, they can press “add stops” to see attractions, scenic sites, or even restaurant options.

Google Maps will also be able to help users anticipate certain situations, such as intersections or exits. During their trip they will be able to see a blue line on the lane markings in the app so they know exactly which lane they should be in. This feature will also be available to all users starting next week.
