The first flying cars usually reserved for fiction are now part of the beginning of reality. Inspired by drone technology, Lovenie’s flying karts allow you to stay in the air for around fifteen minutes. The company wants to primarily target the general public.
David Dricourt left taxation to create his company Lovenie, manufacturer of flying karts. The use is intended for leisure purposes on racetracks, go-kart tracks or automobile circuits. “What interests us above all is the playful side,” adds the founder.
The company was born in May 2022 and the first prototypes appeared at the end of September with the first stabilized flights and the first piloted tests at the end of October. All now is to develop the environment to fly the machines and work on the finished product.
Guarantee the security
For safety reasons, the aircraft is restricted to 2 meters above sea level and 35 km/h. In Europe, this type of flight is not allowed. “So we have to create specific environments,” says David Dricourt. Thus, the flight track will have to be covered with a net, at a cost of 50,000 euros for 100 meters of track.
“Our job now is to develop stiffness, we have to be light and strong. We make frames with aluminum and we do tests with batteries and propellers”, explains the founder of Lovenie.
The United States authorizes this type of aircraft without a pilot’s license. There are already flying karts with Jetson models, a Swedish brand. Their sales are only in the United States and they want to make it a means of transportation in its own right, which is not the case with Lovenie at the moment.
