“An average of 10 hours a day.” This is the time when adolescents spend a screen, according to the psychologist and founder of the collective “Overexposure screens” by Sabine Duflo. On the occasion of the challenge “10 days without screens”, which begins this Tuesday, May 13, alerts the time that young people spend on their smartphone, tablet, console and other screens.

An average of 10 hours a day on smartphone
The psychologist came to this observation during the “addiction” of young people to the screens, using the figures related to the screen time indicated on his smartphone. In other words, this average of 10 hours a day only refers to smartphones, and not the other screens they use.
As much time as young people spend playful requests, said Sabine Duflo. “That is for girls, social networks and for boys, free online video games,” said the psychologist.
But for the next 10 days, adolescents will be invited to do without these applications as part of the “10 days without screens” challenge. Organized every year since 2018, this initiative aims to make them realize a reasoned use of screens. And more than 118,000 young people participate in this new edition.
