“Sorry, but what is that?” In Tiktok, the content designer with 400,000 subscribers of CatgPT managed to catch the users of the platform. In a video posted on May 14, we see the young woman displaced in what looks like a completely translucent smartphone. Today, the video has more than 50 million visits.
The smartphone model kept intrigued Tiktok users. In the video comments, the latter states that it is the “Claro Nokia phone.” Actually, it is a pure invention since this model does not exist, it is just a piece of plexiglass that adopts the form of a smartphone. The Tiktofer calls it “metaphone”, an object that has a very special function.
Heal smart phone addiction
What is the point of creating a completely inert phone replica? In a second video, Catgpt explains that “metaphon” is the invention of one of his friends. The content designer specifies his approach: “If we are both addicted to our phones, could we restrict someone’s addiction replacing the feeling of having a phone in the pocket with something that touch seems exactly the same?”
The young woman explains that this piece of Plexiglass did not necessarily help her reduce the time she spends on her phone. She sees “metaphone” as a sociological experience. The object showed him the need to have “something in his life that he can touch and sustain in his hand.”
With respect to the transmission of false images of transparent phones, it is not new. In 2023, several false demonstrations of totally transparent phones were spoken. Technology is still impossible now.
However, transparent batteries have existed since 2019 according to the new scientist. There are also transparent screens, the problem comes mainly from the projection system.
