Google continues to reveal more on Android XR, its operating system for mixed reality devices developed with Samsung. On the occasion of the conference dedicated to Android, the giant had revealed that it would benefit from Gemini to allow users to perform several tasks.

You have your hands free to keep in mind and interact with the world around you, whether real or virtual,” said Shahram Iszadi, responsible for the mixed reality on Google.

During its conference, the company focused on connected glasses, a concept that has been working for more than a decade. As she showed on stage, these glasses have a camera, microphones and speakers. They will operate in conjunction with the user’s smartphone, which will allow you to access applications without having to get it.
A screen integrated in the lens, available as an option, will also provide useful information when you need it. And with Gemini, the glasses can see and listen to what the user does. In other words, they can understand the context, remember what is important for him, but also provide information when he needs it, according to Google.
“Today’s general description has shown how Android XR glasses will work in real situations,” said Shahram Iszadi. Users can send messages, make appointments, request a route or take photos. The glasses can also be used for live translation.
This project is still under development. Google said he was working with brands and partners to give life to these glasses. The company works, for example, with brands of gentle monster glasses and Warby Parker to create “elegant” glasses with Android XR, because “glasses can only be useful” if people are ready to wear them all day, according to Google.
